This place is absolutely fascinating! It's the perfect eclectic mix of Bavarian Castle decor, knick knacks, beer steins, statues, a huge collection of antique automated music machines, hidden bars, secret passageways, a hidden underground "cave" and wine cellar, and miniature observatory, and so much more!! This 2.5 hour tour was interesting, educational, and engaging. Jim is such a fantastic, fun, and lively tour guide! Truly a master of his craft... And at only $10 per person, I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who enjoys music, a unique view of the city, Bavarian art, decor, and architecture, or anyone who is just looking for something fun, interesting, and new to do and experience! This would also be a fun way to entertain out of town guests for an afternoon! We will definitely be back because there is so much to see that it's impossible to see it all in just one trip. Two thumbs up! 😊
I have heard stories of the Bayernhof Museum and thought I would give it a try while up in Pennsylvania. I was not disappointed at all. This was perhaps the best music museum tour that I have been on in ages. The staff was quite …
What a fascinating house with a captivating story, told by a knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide (Jim). Oh, and it’s full of music machines! Well worth a visit for the 2.5-hour tour. …
An absolute hidden delight that you should not miss. I cannot stress it enough. This museum is not so special because of the house but rather the rare antique musical players that still work. The guide turned them on for us to hear. A very …
What an amazing gem in the area! I had no idea it was here. The tour was fantastic. I could have wandered around all day!
A unique and hidden gem in Pittsburgh. Had a delightful time learning about this interesting man's life and rare collection. Get your tickets in advance! Tours are limited, so plan ahead.
This museum is the legacy of an American entrepreneur who has left the American public a fascinating home of his own creation (you have to see it to believe it), which includes everything from a French bedroom in Italian style to a …
This place was a hoot! Let me start by saying we enjoyed the tour immensely. It was scheduled as a 2.5 hour tour, and we thought "its a house with music boxes, how could it take that long?" and after it was over, we felt like "aww... …
I went with family and wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy the tour, but I was blown away. The music machines, the house, and the stories about its eccentric founder made for an extremely entertaining two hours.
Stunning views are the most interesting part of this mansion.
